Bio Booster / U. Carmignani / Elton D - Textures Series 1 - Stark 02

A fine funky techno release from a new breed of talented producers. After a great start with Philip Braunstein, Stark Records moves forward with a similar sound. Bio Booster is no stranger to us as he delivers his usual dosage of funky groove (Latino Blood, Punisher), this time collaborating with Master M on the percussions. Umberto Carmignani with a distinctive sound which carries on with a driving rhythm and retro chords. Elton D, another upcoming producer from Brazil, with a great laid back tune making a perfect conclusion to this record. Recommended.

Bitstream – The Streamlining EP – Touchin' Bass 16

It seems like the Conner brothers take time to better surprise us. Author of a voluntarily restricted discography, only half of a dozen EPs on Signal, Pylon, City Center Offices and Modern Love, the Northamptonshire UK duo can be proud to scarify quantity to quality. Very much appreciated for his unique sound work, Bitstream joins today Andrea... read more

V/A – Fuckass Rmx – Holzplatten 79

Four variations of a same and unique cut, here's the concept of this new Holzplatten. Written and produced by Brixton (Brachial, A3COI3D), "Fuckass" appears in two distinct versions: the first one delivers a solid 4/4 composition marrying dancefloor bass line and controlled distortions. The second signs an ultra groovy tune marked by furious... read more

Audion - Just Fucking - Spectral 30

Audion is the dark and techno side of Mattew Dear, the one which kill the dancefloor with his unique sound, the one which we love.... Raw strings, hard drums, huge bass, "Kiss" and "pong" have already shown the Texan's know-how in this job. Today he still uses these magical stuffs to come back on spectral with a new bomb "Just Fucking". A hard weapon to destroy your brain and your legs, a dangerous tool to wake up your neighbors. Roman Flügel provide a less raw remix which was already choose by Ivan Smagghe for his very good mix on Fabric. A powerful EP.

Konrad Black & Ghostman - Medusa Smile EP - Wagon Repair 006

After his amazing "Draconia EP", Konrad Black keeps on following a dark and groovy way with this new EP. No more gnome this time but the unknown and very talented Ghostman who gives an other dimension to this track with his whispered talks. Add good rhythm and some click'n'cut and you will obtain a perfect hypnotic and dark house. Irresistible. Even if it's very efficient, the rocket's revamp is less inventive with its sour electroclash taste. To sum up, if you like "Draconia", you will love "Medusa Smile".

Brixton – Brachial 2005/06

Two titles particularly aggressive and successful from the like of Brixton under its Holzplatten sub label. "Attack" sounds the great return of the German artist towards a distorted sound made of false rhythms, slightly acid loops and overflows of analogical tonalities. A squeaking and mental cut to bring closer to the ones Düsseldorf artist produced on Uturn few years ago. Rougher, "Nochnloop" delivers an impressive dancefloor hit marked by a beautiful progression, some furious circling sonorities and an ultra powerful bass line. Exclusively intended for big warehouses!

Michael Mayer - Lovefood EP - Kompakt Pop 06

Usually, Michel Mayer's remixes are better than his own production. Not for this EP. The well-named "Lovefood" will warm your next mixes with its sensual voice and his boiling hot groove. Aguayo remix keep the essential in order to provide a muggier atmosphere. The last (but not the end) remix adds Kylie Minogue's "slow" lyrics to the previous track. Eccentric and sexy. "Give me love..."
