New Wave Pop invades electronic music. Since Chicks on Speed, numbers of artists as Dakar & Grinser, Miss Kittin or recently Anthony Rother, have tried to spread this musical genre, occasionally without success but most of the time with brilliant ideas. That's the case with Codec & Flexor, an obscure ex rock band from Germany that appears for its very first time on Christian Morgenstern's label and offers beautiful lyrical songs. On A side, longplayer "Crazy Girls" is based on techno-house sounds with electro reminiscences. On the reverse, "Getting Bigger" shows a similar style, may be in a more offensive version. And "Breakout" (our favorite !!), an amazing melancholic track, will submerge you in the early 90's, a time where deep house from Chicago was ruling the world !! Excellent. www.forterecords.com Nexus 6, 28/11/2001
