Difficult not to see in "Subsidence" the ideal soundtrack of this summer! Second CD published by Touchin' Bass, this unstoppable compilation follows up the retrospective entitled "Nobody's Perfect" released in the form of a mix in November 2004. Alternating purely dancefloor anthems ("Bacco ", "Temporary", "Nu Groove", "Anxiety", "Jaguar Spirit"), daring experiments ("The Birth Of Houdini's Voice", "Robobop", "Anarchy In China"), atmospheric slaughters ("Gloves", "Polarize", "Excessive Frequency") and lounge pieces ("Etch", "FIB"), this collection of unreleased tunes delivers here thirteen deluxe electro cuts (only eleven in the double vinyl pack) very representative of the current musical tendency. Largely focused towards a dark and mental sound, the opus offers moreover a vertiginous tracklisting gathering for its main part UK and US heavyweight producers as well as new talents. In a higher bid of bass and melodies, Eggfooyoung (Schematic), Andrea Parker & David Morley (Touchin Bass), Tura alias Plaid (Warp), Doctor Evil aka Ben Milstein (Outside Recordings), RD, ADJ (Outside Recordings), Hydraulix (Kuad), Alpha 606 (Dopamine Records), Nomadic (Dopamine Records), IX, Cultek (Touchin Bass), Diagoro and Crunch alias Dave Tiper (Fuel) excellent in their own register, that it is progressive, minimal, hip hop, bleepy, breakbeat, downtempo or even booty. If the talent is at the rendezvous, emotion, creativity and homogeneity are well the main words of this sumptuous project to check urgently. Heavy and vital!! Nexus 6, 20/07/2005
