Nearly one year after the "Garrulous EP", here comes Justin Maxwell's second solo release on John Tejada's label. Member of Volsoc (World Electric / NIT) and half of S.A.E.F.F band (Orson / Krack-tronik), American delivers three crazy tech' house tracks here, to bring closer to Anthony Rother experiments under Family Lounge moniker. The long player "Can You Confirm It?" signs on A side a delirious 4/4 groovy minimal piece, centred mainly on cuts of voices worked with hand of goldsmith. The bleepy "Ppain Killers" on the reverse is more dancefloor, offering seizing analogical flights over a crispy electronic beat. Finally, in a deeper and progressive register, the sharpened "Sandwich Cow" sounds like the return to a mental music marked by subtle electro funk influences. Obviously, Justin Maxwell seems to have had fun on the three titles. A shared pleasure, believe us. When the talent is there! www.paletterecordings.com Nexus 6, 13/06/2005
