Signed on Ladomat, Sid Lerock offers a first astonishing album full of promises. The natural born Canadian living in Cologne in Germany, real named Sheldon Thomson, is not a newcomer in the music scene. He is also known under the alias of Pan/Tone on Sub-Static / Bip-Hop labels and under the alias of Gringo Grinder on Onitor / Kompakt. After playing in several rock bands, Sheldon made the great decision to isolate himself and embark on a new direction in music for his first coming album. The first track "Torque" gives the headlines, with a throbbing and hypnotising bassline. Melodies are sometimes melancholic, but never dark, like in the wonderful track "Lost in gräeser". Considered as one of the nowadays favourite artist of Ada (check interview), she remixed with Metope "Bulldozer", one of the best tracks of this album, if not the best one! The Canadian is definitively under the influence of Cologne, area of German electronic music. "Written in Lipstick" will gather electro purists and indie rock lovers.
