Return of Simon Brown on the label he manages alongside with Radioactive Man (RGC). English artist, very productive these last months on Battle Trax or SMB, signs here a fast and furious four titles EP oscillating between industrial electro and old school breakbeat. A side begins with "Brain Cell Roulette", a devastating dancefloor piece to be compared with "Tron", a track published last year on "Quad Angle EP". Robotic "Nano Drone" keeps on a depressive note, combining to perfection high frequency sounds, Sci-Fi elements and ultra dark strings. In the same spirit, "Twisty Sunday" on the reverse presents to us a Dexorcist in an amazing grime exercise. Vibrating sub bass, sharped rhythm and a nostalgic touch give to the piece its so particular character. At last, astonishing "Dexocet" serves a rather quiet atmospheric piece based on beautiful trancey melodies. An awesome 12", as varied as innovative! www.controltower.co.uk Nexus 6, 02/02/2005
