Chaton + Hopen – An Area – Plak 03

After having released some tracks as solo project on the Geneva based label Plak Records, Chaton & Hopen started to work together and to play as live-act some months ago. "An Area", the A-side longplayer is a good example to see how they are complementary: we find techno & minimal influences by Chaton and sound experimentations by Hopen. The result is a 12 minutes long track that succeeds to mix with ease dubby techno in the spirit of Maurizio, minimal house crackles & rhythm and experimental sounds / melodies and vocal samples. A work which is not easy at all but very successful here. But that's not all since on B-side, Nathan Jonson aka Hrdvision (Itiswhatitis) shows as well an outstanding talent to mix with perfection minimal house, techno and experimental. His remix starts in a crackly & shaky minimal house style both driving and captivating, then some retro ravy strings appear until a break. Then the tune evolves in another direction when the kick comes back and it ends in a totally wild and broken way. Amazing! A release strongly recommended to all DJs who like to take risks and to let their public loose their mind! Check audio samples on Plak web site & get it!!
