If you enjoyed like us both Anthony Rother's albums on Fax Recordings ("Elixir Of Life" and "Magic Diner"), let's flow in complete peace into this U.F.O from the like of SFC on Miami based mythic electronica label Schematic. After working for Counterflow Recordings and Mass Transit structures in a rather electro register, Mattew Brown, Matthew Friedman and Adrian Michna, all three located in Florida, succeed to Richard Devine, Phoenecia or Otto Von Schirach to name and deliver eleven linked together cuts of a rare beauty. Don't try to find here some dancefloor hits, expect on the contrary a relaxing music, in a way chill out, half way between ambient sweets and downtempo hip hop tracks. Album for a domestic use, "Forest Of The Echo Downs" combines with genius organic instruments (trumpets, singing), synthesizers and elements taken from the Nature. Final result offers a timeless journey, nearly cinematographic, where progressive strings, Sci-Fi bleeps, low rhythms, languorous melodies and experimental sounds merge in a perfect alternation. Special mention to sublimes "Cumulus", "Baron Of The Dog", "Black Moss Caves Pt.2" and almost all to "Pollen And Spores", a sad to cry tune. Only one regret, the album would have deserved to be a little bit longer. Highly recommended! www.schematic.net Nexus 6, 02/11/2004
