Caroline Hervé's debut solo album is ready, and it's going to be released on the 1st of June by Novamute!!! After many years of collaboration with Michel Amato (The Hacker), the electro diva offers an album that has nothing to do with electro-clash whatsoever. This LP includes tracks such as "Professional Distortion", which describes Miss Kittin's life as DJ with a twist of irony, "Requiem for a Hit" in collaboration with L.A Williams that has some rather funny vocals (I beat that bitch with a hit), "Soundtrack of Now" (featuring the Hacker) with their familiar sound, and "Meet Sue Be She" a giddy electro-punk "ode" to Suzana, her manager, with some Serbo-Croatian vocals by Suzana herself!!! Overall, this album shows Caroline's "multidimensional" musical talent, which surpasses the electro-clash "trend" and successfully moves forward to other styles... We can note lovely minimal techno touch on "Allergic" and of course electronica / ambient influences like what we found on her excellent mix "Radio Caroline" released last year on Mental Groove : "Happy Violentine", "I Come.Com", "Neukolln", "Dub about me" - the so nice remix of Smash TV "What about me" and "3ème sexe" - a reprise of a 80's hit by the French band Indochine. With "Kiss Factory" and "Clone me", Miss Kittin goes through the genres to reach an electro pop dimension. Highly recommended!!! For your information, the CD single "Professional Distortion" featuring Mode Selektor and Otto Von Schirach mixes and a cartoon video is out now. www.misskittin.com www.novamute.com PanK, 19/05/2004
