Christian Fischer - Remix Poison - Definition 2020

After a very successful EP for DJ Lucca, we have a remix edition done (mostly) by Christian Fischer. A-side track is Christian's rework of Lucca's "Fast Life", with an interesting Eartha Kitt-like female vocal interpretation of Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" song, featured in "Kill Bill Volume 1" movie. It's an interesting... read more

Jeff Samuel – Windux – Morris Audio 34

After various releases on labels like Poker Flat or Trapez, the American producer is back today on Swiss label Morris Audio with three minimal house tracks. The two first tunes combine groove and nice sounds & melodies, maybe in a The Modernist spirit. The last one is more funny / kitsch. Nice.

Lucca - Freedom / Mirage - Acapulco 001

Lucca on her new label delivering a fantastic track. Excellent build-up before a great retro melody kicks in, it's just one of those tracks you really wanna listen to over and over again. "Freedom" is really positive and relaxing, something we would like to hear more. Perfect. B-side is Umek's remix for "Mirage", nice and percussive, a bit retro and progressive. Breakdown is nicely done, Umek's usual production, nothing fancy here. Watch out for Lucca's forthcoming Primate release, as well as her 2nd EP for Acapulco. Thumbs up!

Freddy Fresh Featuring Boricua All Stars – Howlin' 32

Combining electronic cadence and latino sounds, a concept launched in the middle of the 90s, thanks to Raul Orellana's unstoppable hit "The Real Wild House" among others. An idea that US artist Freddy Fresh uses today on his own 7'' label Howlin' Records, with "Flamenco", a hot and groovy tune made of dried guitar flights and congas. On the reverse, "What Will He Do?" serves a sensitive and relaxing cut, hip hop – big beat rhythms in the background. An ideal chill out focused production!

Midiots - Traktorizm - Dumb Unit 17

After a precedent release on Treibstoff, the Russian duo Midiots come back this time on the Jeremy P. Caulfield's label, Dumb Unit. In the same style of their previous EP, Midiots offer to us two good and similar tracks. First, "Traktorizm", groovy track with an ingenious mixing of a powerful bassline with a good setup of various and banging sounds. On the other side, it's "Replica", a softer track but effective, with a really nice melancholic melody. Check audio samples on Dumb Unit web site!

Southsoniks - Aures Serva EP - Bullitt 04

Oh my God!!! If you don't already have this record, run to the nearest store and by all means get one copy! A1 ("Dreminiscence") is a Detroit track with elements of minimal house mixed with an absolutely fantastic melody. I know, I'm a sucker for melodic techno, but this is classic! One of the best tunes I've ever heard, honest. A2 ("Merge Mercy")... read more
