Direct follow up to matchless album "Elixir Of Life" released in 2002 on excellent Pete Namlook experimental ambient structure, intimate "Magic Diner" goes on with its exploration of musical silence. Minimalist urban atmospheres, long depressive synthesizer laments, anguishing moods, beats bring to nought, dramatic lullabies, melancholic vocals or singing birds form main part this 9 cuts lounge and captivating soundtrack. Don't expect dancefloor hits but instead find here a refined music more hard to understand than previous opus. Cancelling romanticism of his productions on Psi49net, Anthony Rother, who tries to escape from his electro label since his recent works on Cocoon and Datapunk, appears like unrecognizable. A good way to be renewed and to take risks. Congratulations.
