Konfekt - Fin[hel] / Drive (cont.) - Areal 21

On A-side, M. Klein brings a dark, cold and even frightening (shrill sounds) minimal techno longplayer which is at the same time very hypnotising. The B-side longplayer is dark electro, in a broken and powerful way (massive sounds!): very nice! Check audio samples on Areal web site !

Feadz - Maxi Beef - Bpitch Control 86

Feadz, French artist from Bpitch Control label, presents us his new release: "Maxi Beef". Still on the break / hip-hop way, you will find 3 really special tracks with oldschool flavour, epileptic rhythms, broken beat and a remix by Mr Oizo with a stylish sampling exercise...

V/A - Beat Bazaar - Tongut 11

The first compilation of the label owned by Swiss producer A. Pollmann aka Apoll. Fans of minimal techno or dubby techno will be pleased with this release, especially thanks to the excellent tracks by Todd Bodine, René Breitbarth, Dialogue, Apoll, Falko Brocksieper or Kazoo. Great! Check mp3 samples on Tongut web site!

Savath and Savalas - Apropat' - Warp 115

After one EP and an album on the Chicago based label Hefty Records (T. Raumschmiere, Telefon Tel Aviv...) Savath and Savalas (aka Prefuse 73) brings on Warp his 2nd album: Apropat'. Accompanied by the Spanish singer Eva Puyelo Muns, the beatmaker from Atlanta gives us 14 really interesting tracks. Between Spanish folk and melancholic pop, this... read more

Kronos Device - Qube - Battle Trax CD 02

"Your planet is defenceless, you have no time to react, as we lay waste to your cities, with our sonorous attack". This is how the first Kronos Device album starts. With a threatening introduction. Taking back with the cuts already released on "Ravager Of Planets" and "Damage Control" Ep's (cf. our previous reviews), this second CD opus published... read more

Mitch - Symphonie organique EP - Elektrofon 02

No doubt, the French producer Mitch is an 80s lover! Four electro techno 80s tracks (including a remix by Lab Insect), with many analog sounds, oldschool drum-machines and some vocoded samples. A really nice EP. Check audio samples on Elektrofon web site!

MIA - Schwarzweiss - Sub Static 36

The boss of the excellent label from Cologne, Substatic (Falko Brocksieper, Pan/Tone...), presents her first album after some months of silence. The 7 tracks of this LP are in same vein than previous EP's from MIA : funky groove, melancholic melodies, acid basslines and microscopic rhythm variations. Most of the tracks are soft and melodic, some others more pumpin' and dancefloor, but always deserved by a good production. This "Schwarzweiss" is definitely an interesting album. Tom Clark - In the cage - Morris / Audio 30

The Swiss label was founded 4 years ago and here is its 30th release! This EP is done by Tom Clark who delivers three excellent tracks. Groovy & pumpin' minimal house with a little oldschool touch which remembers another German producer based in Berlin: Steve Bug. Check it!

Scape One pres. Tone Cluster The 1st Diversion - Affected Music 10

Four unreleased pieces from Scape One under Tone Cluster moniker. The UK artist, obviously sensible to Affected Music artistic line signs a deep, aesthetic and full of melodies electro. Some relaxing, emotive, Detroit style pieces less focused on the dancefloor than his previous productions. A perfect EP to play at the beginning of your set.

V/A - Carjack City Volume I - Roulette Rekordz 05

Roulette improves with the passing of the releases. Here's the proof with this fifth production, exceptional of quality not only because of the track selection but also in the artists choice. If on the flip Manasyt and Dublo sign two nervous electro hits enhanced by powerful rhythms and heavy distorted sounds, LL321 presents a minimal tune... read more

Chester Beatty - Learn to Ride - Superbra 27

The Japanese producer at his best! A-side A: a driving & atmospheric techno longplayer with perfect production. B-side: the first title can be boring because of a distorted guitar sample but the last track, softer & more housy, is far better with an atmosphere pretty close to Alexander Kowalski's one. Nice!
