Warning: must have! The German label based in Cologne has just published its second CD compilation, this time made of tracks released on Areal EPs #10 to #19. The CD brings 12 minimal techno / house titles with also some electro & electronica experimentations, the whole mixed by Jan-Eric Kaiser. To be honest, three tracks are not mixed and one of these tracks ends by a one minute silence where can only be heard the needle looping on the last vinyl’s circle! No compromise, music above all!! And of course we find Areal’s usual touch in the whole selection: a lot of inventive tracks despite sometimes a dark and raw atmosphere. Don’t think all of this is only dedicated to Areal fans, many tracks are both beautiful and full of emotions, which make them very easy for anybody: "Mentt(ambis)" by Konfekt, "Expired" by Remute, "Bedhanger" by Undo/Redo and of course the three wonderful titles by Ada, "Believer", "Blindhouse" & "...and more". Minimal techno lovers will be satisfied with some strong and captivating tracks like "Drachma" by Metope, "Zeitgleich" by Undo/Redo, "Boxed[estab]" by Konfekt or "Against luftwiderstand" by Basteroid. Thanks a lot Areal for this fresh and contrasted record to be listened at home timeless (personally it has been played and looped many times into my CD player!). GET IT!
