Clé and Mike Vamp aka the Märtini Brös released their second album on Pokerflat; this longplayer consists of 13 exquisite songs plus a bonus/special video clip called "the shooting". It is a very good work, showing that "the brothers" have matured... musicwise of course. Influenced by 80's pop, rock and electronic music, the album brings 13 songs that travel the listener to the romantic and magical world of the Märtini Brös. Guest musicians are Eric D. Clarke on "Big and Dirty" and guitarist/producer Tobi Nuemann with his fancy guitar solo on "Traveller"; indeed, guitars and vocals have the leading role in this LP, but unlike their first album, on "Love the Machines" all vocals are in English. The story behind the song "The girl that pulled the plug" is actually true and happened in Cologne on one of their gigs. Humorous vocals there "I tried to find out what the fuck... and found the girl that pulled the plug" accompanied by some "enormous" bass sounds that made everything in my room tremble!!! Overall this album is marked by its "delicate" and yet "warm" production. Songs that will definitely become hits are the "Traveller", "(She's) Heavy Metal" and "Big and Dirty". For one more time... exemplary production techniques by the Märtini Brös, on an album that will be discussed for a long long time... In one word: Exceptional!!! www.pokerflat-recordings.com PanK, 17/06/2004
