Temporary change of musical course for Jon Drukman and Justin Maxwell's label. After five new school oriented electro outputs, Bass Kittens (Mephisto, Spinyl Records, Pretension) and Single Cell Orchestra (Astralwerks, Asphodel, OMW) pay this time tribute to early 90's Chicago Acid House. With "Easy Money" (declined also on the flip in its instrumental version), both Californian return to their first influences under the form of a cut combining nostalgic TB303 loops and harmonious DSP arrangements. Completed by Mariette Marinus and MC Silly B Chill inspired vocals, the track appears as a real slaughter a la Armando. In a register closer to Pretension artistically line, mental "Down With Digital" evolves into a brilliant urban electro served by remarkable bleepy sonorities, some industrial layers and a strong metallic rhythmic. A pure anthem to damage the dance floors. Fresh and modern, a vital release! www.pretension.com Nexus 6, 07/08/2006
