Per Mikael - Dungfakkadung - GFR1209

Mikael Persson once again with his distinctive style. A1 is an interesting track with a funny-sounding name 'Dungfakkadung'. Good funky rhythm with nice piano chords and reverberated percussion stabs. Great for mixing. Remix for this track done by Leandro Gamez is what we would expect from such an excellent producer. A bit deep, but still percussive and funky at his own way. Great use of reverb on the chords. 'Battatong' has a lot in common with the Neapolitan sound, especially the bassline and the track arrangement, still retaining a Swedish touch. A move forward for Per Mikael.

Ben Sims - Oblivion / City Life Remixes - Primate 71

This new EP from Primate sets fire to the dance floor. Four remixes on the previous released oblivion & city life plus the original versions, deliver hard, fast and even "housy" techno tunes that will definitely move your body. Remixes for oblivion come from Smith & Selway and Mark Williams and for city life from Marco Bailey and Tobias Von Hofsten. Undoubtedly Mark Williams remix on Oblivion is a killer one which will set free the ecstatic and "primate-ive" feelings of the dancers.

Eedio - Hero ep - Device 005

After Bpitch Control (who's discovered him in 2001), Interzone Records and Leitmotiv, the French producer Eedio appears now on the English imprint Device Records. As usual, Eedio' sound is very clean. The excellent title "Hero" contains a female synth voice and a lot of computer sounds remembering for our pleasure the middle 80's. "Breakage" is... read more

Sascha Zastiral - Respect - Holzplatten 64

Like a tribute to Chicago style, this efficient production, written by new Holzplatten recruit Sascha Zastiral, develops in four tracks an ultra dancefloor and nostalgic pumping techno. Whereas on A side "The Funk Member", based upon a percussive bassline, offers beautiful tribalo-groovy flights, "Quaar" ventures into hypnotic sounds while... read more
