An output strictly different from those already published on Touchin' Bass. Born from profitable collaboration between Andrea Parker's English label and Miami based electronica structure Schematic, this 12" presents four titles taken from "Forest Of The Echo Downs", first album of SFC published in 2004 (let's read also our review in the previous pages). Lounge, cosy, sensitive, the music of this American trio moves away from the dancefloor hits to approach Autechre, FSOL or Boards Of Canada's downtempo experiments. Mixing skilfully hip hop sonorities, cool melodies and conventional instruments (trombone, guitar, piano), "The Black Moss EP" is completed by the DJ Friendly "Ghost In the Bayou" unreleased cut. A superb production which will make you wait in a relaxing way before the publication of the very awaited triple pack "Subsidence" on Touchin' Bass!
