Industrial influences, Sci-Fi sounds and heavy bass, here comes Hydraulix again! After the incredible buzz generated around their first release ("The Hydraulix EP") last year, Ashrock and Jimi The Genius (Richard Zarate & Jimi Merlo) strike back to spread terror on the dancefloors, signing the second output of Kuad Records, their own label. Close to the sound developed by its neighbours Exzakt or Jackal & Hyde, Miami based duo distillates here a brilliant dark and efficient electrobass on "Future Leaders", first track of the A side that comes along with a "Bonus Beat" shorter and condensed version. Rough kick, robotic rhythms and vocoded lyrics, Merlyn, the heavyweight Breakbeat producer and cofounder of Kuad deploys an impressive gear on B-side to turn "Dominate" (and it's a capella a la "This Is The Sound Of Underground") one of the summer syncopated killer tunes. Indeed a devastating 12'' but nothing to compare with the forthcoming Hydraulix release on Touchin' Bass, believe us! More news within a couple of weeks.
