Here is another amazing release by Michel Baumann aka Jakemate ! Somewhere between minimal house and techno, the German producer uses his great savoir-faire to bring a nearly perfect 4 cuts EP... The A side starts with "Airraid" : some hypnotising strings, a massive bass, some percussions and a groovy & pumpin' rhythm... Simply excellent ! The next track "Indigo Children remix" is more minimal but it is also hyper funky & efficient with its strong kick and its little female sample ! "L'arc Venu" begins the B side... and what a track ! It starts in a jazzy direction thanks to a double bass and a particular rhythm. Then some string appear - in two times - with a 4/4 driving beat... Absolutely perfect to start a DJ set. At last, "Crack and handle" ends this EP in a deep (again some nice strings !), minimal and always groovy style. In one word : essential !
