David Phillips - No Way Out EP - Approximate Records 01

Few weeks ago, Harald klotzberg initiated the movement by launching his own label. Today his Decomplex partner Phil Davis follows the leader with Approximate, a new sound division focused as well on the dancefloor. Based upon hypnotic loops, linear bassline and light vocals, "Another Day" and "8 am" introduce a progressive, deep and very efficient techno, ideal to start a mix before coming into serious things.

Paral.lel + Private Eye - EP1 - Bee Records 01

Released more than one year ago, this first Bee Records EP shows the talent of new French producers: the duo Slush & Praktisch aka Paral.lel (label founders) and Private Eye. They all deliver top quality electro / breakbeat / electronica. Some of the tracks could have been released on Warp. Excellent. Check audio samples on Bee web site!

Richie Inkle - Perspective EP - Pseudo Rec. 03

Second EP by this French producer, one more time on Pseudo Records. The side A longplayer "Perspective Cavalière" is deep techno and quite hypnotising thanks to various arpeggios and strings. It sounds very US, as well as the second track "Spline" that is based on the same kind of analog sounds. Both class and captivating. "Orthonormal" ends this three cuts with a nice TB-303 bassline, a little bit slower tempo and always beautiful sounds and strings... No doubt, Richie Inkle minimal & deep techno style has not secret for Richie Inkle. Check audio samples on Pseudo Rec. web site!

Agoria - La Onzième Marche Rmxs - Pias Recordings 076r

One of last year's best tech' house tracks is remixed for the French division of Play It Again Sam (Pias Recordings). Two explicit remixes are presented here from Phil Kieran and DJ C1. The same epic chords that made the original track so distinctive are kept by Kieran, with the addition of a much harder kick, a metallic-sound snare drum and some... read more

Taho - Iulia EP - Adrenogroov 06

The French producer stays faithful to himself with three techno tracks both deep, atmospheric and rich that remember sometimes Kaito (Kompakt). The sound production is perfect and "Iulia temple" (also remixed by Vince Watson) is absolutely sumptuous!!!

Andreas Kremer - Freakout & Flashbacks EP - Lifeform 09

Ode to the party and the dancefloor, this ninth release from Lifeform camp contains three killer tracks that will not let you indifferent to. On A side, "Partystecher" gathers together all components to transform the tune into an unstoppable hit: ravaging bassline, ultra saturated melodies, hypnotic vocals and a fat break that will make serious damages to your speaker systems. Full of effects but as fearsome, "Morgen Stirbt Berlin", in original and remixed version (thanks to Dj Hansz and Jan Liefhebber efforts) will remind you on B side crushed sound of first Kurbel releases. You'll be warned!

Joalz - Environment - Ntrop 06

Here is the second EP by Leon Sega aka Joalz taken from his CD album "Beyond instincts". The boss of Greek label Ntrop delivers two minimal techno tracks both dark & driving. The use of strings and vocal samples remembers the sound of German label Sender or Paul Kalkbrenner's touch (Bpitch Control). Really cool! His friend Scorpio also brings a nice remix sounding more nostalgic / 80's. Check it on Ntrop web site !

V/A - Relektrolax CD compilation - Relax Recordings 03

An interesting mixture of relaxed retro electro tracks done mostly by Greek artists which deserve all encouragements. I don't know if it was intended, but it was surprising that some of the tracks had great resemblance to some of the 80's famous hits. The only track differing from the concept with it's futuristic approach is made by Billy Dalessandro. Check it out now.

Luciano & Quennum - No title - Cadenza 01

Luciano released several tracks on famous label all over the world (Transmat, Klang, Perlon, Mental Groove). Now the Geneva-based DJ build a label with Quenum (Access 58, Music Man, Pacific), Cadenza. Two offensive floor-fillers, less clickhouse than usual. "Orange mistake" leads an incredible synth hook, raw bassline and straight 4-to-floor: Luciano, mental agility meets Quenum percussive stuff ! On the flip side "Funky dandy" goes more deep techno with funny vocal loop. Don't waste your time and buy the most wanted tune of Sonar !

ADJ - The Raw EP - Touchin' Bass 04

Like his ultra brilliant mixes, Andy Jaggers practices a sensible and linear electro which is extremely well represented on this fourth release from Touchin' Bass, an enthusiastic label because of the quality putted in its selection of tracks and artists. Also known as 3 Elements, author of much sought-after releases on Pyramid Transmissions,... read more
