Zeta Reticula - EP 4 - Electrix 16
Obviously in great form, Slovenian delivers as usual on Electrix a two heads production, percussive old school electro beat on the A side, analogical dancefloor techno on the reverse. Brilliant. To be noticed three promising teaser cuts that will let you think about new musical directions Umek will explore in its forthcoming releases. www.rocketsciencemedia.co.uk Nexus 6, 24/09/2003

E.M.S - Colonized EP - Satamile 12
Started in 1995 in New York, Andrew A. Price label takes up again with Stephen Mind aka E.M.S (Electro Music Specialist), one of its first signs. This fellow friend, analog sounds freak and handyman (he builds by himself synthesisers he uses), author of three EP's and a forthcoming album on Satamile, delivers here an electro deep beauty in a old... read more Nexus 6, 24/09/2003

Les Jardiniers - Train to Reofa - Hautec 117
Here is the third album by the Quebec duo. Minimal house mainly dedicated to the dancefloor with some vocals. The sound production is perfect and it can remember some of their compatriots like Akufen of course (unfortunately without being equivalent to this master!). Some good tracks although the whole is perhaps too "clean" and sometimes too fast for me. www.lesjardiniers.net Ludo, 23/09/2003

Michael Burkat - Analogue Architect - Temper 03
For the third output of its young label, UK Michael Burkat called Lars Klein and Andreas Kremer talents to readapt "Analogue Architect", a tune that appeared on Temper 02. Both Germans, with wide experience of remixes and obviously inspired by original track, have a great time into percussive and aggressive techno. Full of patterns, drums and other stinging basslines! www.still-music.com Nexus 6, 22/09/2003

Freddy Fresh - Have Records Will Travel - Howlin' CD
Heighth album from the US artist after "Watch That Sound", "Music For Swingers", "The Last True Family Man" or "BBoy Stance", "Have Record Will Travel" gathers together the very best of Freddy Fresh released on Howlin' Records, his own label. Scorpio - Elektra's Eyes - Ntrop 07 CD
This new release of Athens-based imprint is Scorpio's debut album. This Greek producer who already appeared on previous Ntrop Recordings EPs brings here 13 tracks evolving between electro techno and electro / breakbeat. The atmospheres are particularly dark and the used sounds often remember famous computer-sounds and 80's old synths. A perfect... read more Ludo, 18/09/2003

V/A - Chica Disco Vol.1 mixed by DJ Sin Plomo - Chica Discos 02
Although this CD is published by young Ibiza-based label Chica Discos, it's not full of commercial tracks but simply a good quality deep house selection. The mix is clean and tracklisting is exclusively made of 12" released on Dessous & Poker Flat (Vincenzo, Jeff Bennet, Glowing Glisses, Guido Schneider, ...) and others to be released soon on Chica Discos (par Sin Plomo & Torsten Stenzel). www.chica-discos.com Ludo, 17/09/2003

V/A - Techno Deutschland - Workingvinyl 06
Sensible ears, be careful! With "Techno Deutschland", Mayhem woodcutter hits strongly! Three tracks produced by Andreas Kremer himself plus one bonus version by Marlene Matrix focused for big warehouse parties, in which rough basslines, industrial sounds and violent distortions mix merciless and without compromise. In hard register, this EP is a must have! www.workingvinyl.de www.andreaskremer.com Nexus 6, 16/09/2003

erikOtanabE - I'm pregnant - Morris Audio Citysport edition 04
This fourth special edition of Swiss label Morris Audio is done by Davide Squillace. It could have been surprising but in fact not: the Italian producer decided to integrate the famous Neapolitan groove into house. He's not the first artist to do that - Gaetano Parisio already tried in the past, with success, when he launched the SouthSoul series - but this time Davide is going further into the deep & minimal side, with some female vocal samples and more fineness. The four tracks are effective with a special mention to "Audacious bit". www.morrisaudio.com Ludo, 16/09/2003

Lacquer - Overloaded - BMG
After "Behind" EP, here is the album and the formula is strictly the same: massive and perfect electro techno new wave 80s sound with the same voice on almost all tracks. Unfortunately a voice that sounds too "commercial" on an entire album. For the rest, the CD protection against copy (with 128 kbps mp3 player provider, pfff....) shows clearly that the main target is far away from the underground scene!! Too bad... www.lacquersound.com Ludo, 15/09/2003

Invexis - Master And Slave EP - Decomplex Audio 23
First Invexis appearance on Decomplex! After releasing several 12'' on Planet Rhythm, Sok, Salpeter et Kazumi, German Georg Köhler, who goes really famous now, invests Erkeim techno label to deliver two highly energetic tracks. On A side, "Master And Slave" (that comes in a Aqualab & Davis tribal remix version on the reverse) combines powerful bassline, feverish synthesizer lines and lashing percussions. Really persuasive! As efficient on B side, "Derogen" introduces fearsome metallic elements over evil rhythm. As rough as the whip caress in your skin! www.decomplexaudio.com Nexus 6, 15/09/2003
